my son will be leaving for mct on monday.bootcamp was quite a ride but i am useto it now so am not having as hard of a time with him leaving now i know he will be fine and am ready to jump full force into being a marine mom.it is great so hi to you all and look foward to knowing more of you moms out thare

11th MEU - Approval

Hi: My son is deploying with the 11th MEU on September xx . When I went to the part of the board to request permission to join this site, I accidently sent it without writing anything. I haven't been approved yet, probably because I didn't write anything, but now that the time is getting closer, I would like to get approved. When I click on the 11th MEU it says "Waiting Approval from Board Administrator" How long does it take for approval and what kind of information...

Change Username?

I just read the rules about the username so I need to change it (although how would anyone know until the account is already made?) I need to know how to change it? I only have one email so can't make new account (and if I make a new email I'll forget about it) So, how can I change me username? I read some of people's post about changing but that was for getting rid of paris island at the end and mine doesn't have that.

Hi everyone,
My name is Jackie. I'm 25, and my husband and I (along with our two boys) are currently stationed in Quantico.

He's been a Marine for 6 years and is planning on becoming a lifer. We're hoping to get orders out of here in November. He wants to go back with Fast Co. In 04-05, we were stationed in Yorktown with Fast. He deployed twice out of there. We then moved to Lejeune and he was with 2nd LAR... and here we are in Quantico where he works for Range...

Ok, Ok, Ok.....all through election season, we had the warning about political postings posted with the cool pic of MOS of the month.
Now it seems to be bigger, redder and more glaring than ever. If the board is still having a political/controversial section, why can't posts just be moved to that section when they inadvertently appear in other sections. A lot of time, people are venting or just expressing concern and aren't even aware that their posts could be seen as...

I created my user name and stuff when my fiance was in boot camp at PI. Now he is in MOS in CA. How do I get the parrisisland off of my user name and just have a regular one now that he has graduated and such. I'm a little confused

Why am I not able to get on deployment page ? I have been posting for a week now. And now my username has changed from bigdad to bigdad-parrisisland. Why did it do that? My son was deployed last week in june. I would like to be able to talk to the parents in his outfit. any help would be much helpful.

Privacy Issues

I was wondering if I need to do something to my profile for added security and privacy. I was fooling around on google and typed in my user name and my entire profile came up as well as the names of my 'friends', postings, etc. Is there a way to prevent this? This looks like way too much information is available to anyone who likes to 'google' things.
