I haven't seen anybody here from that unit. I only heard from my son long enough to hear 533 and "deploy soon" - I'll have to get a few more details when he calls later. (Of course, it's the ONLY unit on the base website where there wasn't a KV newsletter I could access. AAHHHH!) I would appreciate any information you can provide. (E mail where appropriate.) My son has been at MCAS since April and all I can say is it has been interesting. I love having the oppurtunity to visit him unlike when he was in California for schooloing. He recently was on a float for training but had to come home on emergency leave (death in the family). I have had teh pleasure of meeting many of his fellow memebers of 251 and think they are a great group. Phil is an airframe mechanic and works on the F-18's. I hope to get to meet more families from this board like back at the PI board. PMM of LCPL. Phil

Chris has been at the air station since the beginning of October. He loves it. (It took a little bit for him to get settled in - an absentee roommate -higher rank- who didn't give him any space to unpack. Chris lived out of his seabags for 3 weeks.) We're going down to Beaufort for Thanksgiving - renting a house and cooking Thanksgiving dinner. I'm really looking forward to it. Ginny Proud Mom of L Cpl. My name is nancy and i married my marine july 25 2003. My Marine graduated bootcamp in nov 2002. we are currently stationed in yuma az, he was deployed to iraq in aug 2004 to feb 2005, then he left for japan for 14 months in may 2005 and he just re-enlisted and we found out were we are going, but we are still waiting on the date. we got orders for beaufort sc. finally something thats on the east coast. im so happy . the only thing i have to do is, see if i can transfer from the daycare center here in yuma and get on at the one at beaufort. hoopefully i can. well im going to go for now, hope to talk to you all later nancy P VPMW of cpl palko

It took some settling in, but Chris loves Beaufort. It's difficult without a car, and quite a hike from the barracks to the flight line. Laurie, I would suggest reading the base newspaper for the scoop. The Jet Stream (The Boot is PI and The JetStream is MCAS) Also, check out the base website for base and unit news.
