I've been a PROUD Marine Mom since Patrick's Parris Island graduation in April of 2004. Patrick enlisted the fall after his college graduation. Our family lives in Braintree, MA. After boot, our Patrick applied to OCS and received his commission in 2005. He is now a Communications Officer at Pendleton and will be deployed soon. No roller coaster matches the ride you go on when your loved one brings you into the USMC family, but we have found that each step prepares us more for the next one!!!! His cousin Jesse also graduated and is stationed with Matt. My nephew Daniel left a week ago Sunday for PI. I live in Wales MA, which is located 35 minutes southwest of Worcester MA. Basically I am located between Springfield and Worcester, but near the CT border. Nice to see all the other families from MA. Semper Fi to all and I would also be interested in a get-together. We are in Auburn (just west of Worcester). My son, Pat graduated PI on 5/18/07 and is currently at MOS at FLW Missouri. It's great to be able to call and email him whenever I want! He joined with 2 of his friends, one is at Abderdeen and the other is due to graduate PI 7/27/07. They are all reserves so I can't wait until they are all together again - probably some time around Halloween. He is currently stationed in Yuma Arizona. After PI graduation he spent 18 months in Pensacola and is now a Radar Technician. He just completed his first tour in iraq and should be stateside until 9/08. We are from Haydenville, which makes us neighbors. I have been on this board since 6/05 and you are the first local people that I have seen on here. Is your son coming home for Xmas? My Matt will be here in early December for 30 days WOOP!!!! I am sure that you are extremely proud of your Marine. My son was also in Charlie Company at SOI -- they say it's the toughest one there. He left Charlie Company and joined the 2/6 in June 2006. Wow - it's so hard to believe that all of that happened more than a year and a half ago. Since that time he deployed to Fallujah and returned at the end of October 2007. Great to be part of the greatest family of all...the Marine family! Bob...played many years of hockey myself and coach the JV High School team in Billerica with three other great friends. Outstanding sport to be involved in. I played goaltender and my Marine was also a Goalie and fortunate enogh to win the State Championship when he was ten. I told him then, that championship will live with him forever and that nobody can ever take away that acomplishment. He blew me away when he called me after the crucible and told me…"Dad just like my championship…Nobody can ever take the Title of US Marine away from me". Can't believe he remebered that almost 11 years later. Like all of you, Donna and I are extremly proud of all of our Marines! God, Bob my hat is off to you...two sons....how do you sleep at night?
