Ummm, hate to break it to you but the 3D MEB is very deployable. III MEF is the big picture so to speak. Within the III MEF are smaller
batalions/units and 3D MEB actually falls under the III MEF. Courtney is on the east coast of Okinawa in about the middle. Maybe a little south of the middle.
It's on this map. It's "A" and Hansen is "C".
It's sort of close to Hansen. It's not that it's far from Hansen, it would just be easier to get to if you could travel in a straight line. lol

My son is at Camp Courtney too. If anyone has any other information about it, please share. Now you have two MARINE moms named Debbie asking.

There is not a whole lot at Courtney. The main purpose of Courtney is family housing. It's the where the accompanied Marines who work at Hansen and Schwab
live when they live in base housing. There is a small commissary, small PX, theater, food court, bowling alley, gym, pool, library, enlisted/NCO/officer's
club, and a chapel. There are very few Marines that actually work on Courtney. There is a pig farm near by and what I remember the most about Courtney is how
bad it stinks there. lol It's pretty boring for the most part but they can always take the Green Line to the other bases when they have time off and get
bored of the same ol' same ol' on Courtney. It's not a very busy base. You don't see many people when you go there. There is really not a lot
to tell about Courtney.

A great big hug for helping me too.
I only wish I had this web site last year when I thought I was the only one on the planet feeling this way.
It's comforting to know I'm not the only one. My son was with the trucking co. until about a month ago. After 8 months in Ramadie, Iraq he moved to
communications at Camp Courtney. He too is an animal lover, but pigs...I don't know. Now, if it were cows, he'd go cow tippin'.
I guess now I know why he so greatful for the "new releases" dvd's. What does your Lcpl. Evan do? Mama Dukes PMM of Cpl. B

Hey, Debbi, sorry it took so long to reply. I wish I could tell you it was because I was working but I can't. Tell Evan not to get too attached to the pigs at the pig farm, they are not pets.
